The 113 Calhoun Street Foundation is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to create communities more resistant to losses from natural hazards – flood, wind, and earthquake – and to promote ways of living that help people conserve natural resources.

113 Calhoun Streets mission is being achieved through the development of low-cost tools and techniques, educational activities, and technical assistance programs in three priority areas:

– Natural Hazards Mitigation strategies to minimize loss of life and property from the effects of flood, wind, and earthquake events;

– Sustainable Building Practices involving energy and water conservation, sustainable landscaping, recycled and sustainable building materials, and construction waste and recycling; and

– Sustainable Living, including household hazardous waste management, home pest control, indoor air and water quality, and recycling.
