21 Acres, an innovative is a community-drivenproject that will serve as anagricultural and environmental learning center for people of all ages.The organization is committed to making local, sustainable-grown food acornerstone of healthy lifestyles and communities. With the mission tocultivate, demonstrate and advance systems that support sustainableagriculture, the land now supports 80 community garden plots and a farmgrowing food for families, market, schools and hunger relief.

History of 21 Acres

Formerly known as the Kaplan Farm, 21 Acres was purchased in the late 1990’s by King County Parks and Natural Resources. Friends of the Woodinville Farmers Market purchased the land from the County for $352,000 in January, 2005. 21 Acres is part of King County’s Farmland Preservation Project.
