A Call to Serve (ACTS) International, is a US-based nonprofit organization is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Patricia Blair, MD, founded the organization in 1992 in direct response to requests for help from colleagues in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. While the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 marked an end to political and religious oppression, it also marked an end to the social services, economic mainstays, medical support, power sources and infrastructure previously provided to the people in the former Soviet republics.
