The A.J. Fletcher Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity formed by the founder of Capitol Broadcasting Company, the late A.J. Fletcher. The Foundation is organized to support The Fletcher Academy School of Achievement, a school for learning-disabled children, and also supports the work of other charitable, civic and social organizations. The school is for students who need a highly structured, very personalized context in which to learn. The school provides students with opportunities to discover the strengths of their own minds and to develop learning styles consistent with those strengths.

Support nonprofit organizations in their endeavors to enrich the lives and well-being of people in North Carolina.

The foundation has changed its focus to human services, using grants and partnerships with others to give voice to North Carolinians who have no voice, and to affect policy change at the state level.
