The mission of AFFORD is to make positive dynamic transformation in our community through research and development so as to contribute poverty alleviation, by empowering through functional educational skills.
Over all, Aayatiin aims to provide community development services with especial focus on educating Somali children and youth.
The specific objectives are:
– To provide extra support using a community language in order to improve the level of achievement in education;
– To build confidence and to boost their motivation;
– To recruit and train bilingual volunteers from the community to assist Somali pupils in their classes;
– To provide advice, information, guidance and assistance to the community on education focusing on the white paper: “Every Child Matters”;
– To organise seminars and workshops to Somali parents on how they can help children when at home;
– To conduct research that focus on youth development.
