Abingdon Association very warmly welcomes all new members who must first be a member of the National Trust or an affiliated National Trust, such as the National Trust for Scotland.
The National Trust for Scotland is the conservation charity that protects and promotes Scotland’s natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations to enjoy. With over 270,000 members it is the largest conservation charity in Scotland and it depends for its support on donations, legacies, grants and membership subscriptions.
The National Trust works to preserve and protect the coastline, countryside and buildings of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We do this in a range of ways, through practical caring and conservation, through learning and discovery, and through encouraging millions of people to visit and enjoy their national heritage.
We have many long-term programmes in place to help educate people about the importance of the environment and of preserving our heritage for future generations. We also contribute to important debates over the future of the economy, the development of people’s skills and sense of community, and the quality of the local environment in both town and country.
