Our Mission

To contribute to the reduction of global poverty by helping developing communities to improve the social, economic and environmental conditions in which people live.

Name

Abiyay is a Quechua word meaning “to equip one with the necessary for a voyage.” Quechua is one of the indigenous languages of the Peruvian/Bolivian highlands and continues to be an official language in both countries.

Our Beginnings

Two years ago the founders of Abiyay began a small scale effort to bring aid and relief to a small rural town in Perú. Through the generous support of their family and friends, they organized and facilitated Christmas celebrations for the children and families who would have otherwise not celebrated the special holiday.
