[imgul:med_actsa_logo.jpg:]ACTSA is a democratic not-for-profit organisation funded by its members and supporters.
ACTSA has been campaigning with the people of southern Africa as they strive to build a better future, working for peace, democracy and development across the region.
ACTSA influences decision-makers in Britain and Europe on policies that affect southern Africa. It keeps the region in the public and political spotlight through lobbying, publication of reports and media work. ACTSA also inspires change and humanitarian relief through direct action in the southern African region.
ACTSA campaigns to ensure this raging pandemic receives the proper response from the international community. In particular ACTSA seeks to ensure that access to treatment is broadened and that those most vulnerable to the disease are afforded the correct protection.
ACTSA is currently focusing on one of the pandemics forgotten victims; children. Each year, 640,000 children under 15 are infected with HIV. Without treatment, half of them will die before their second birthday. Nearly 90% of new child HIV infections occur in sub-Saharan Africa.
Millions of women and girls across Zimbabwe face unnecessary suffering and hardship, ACTSA campaigns to ensure that these women are afforded their most basic human rights.
It is vital that ACTSA continues to generate awareness and raise funds to supply more sanitary products to these women.
