Alliance for a Responsible Swine Industry (or ARSI), is a non-profit organization established in an effort to fight against a lack of regulations in the hog industry. ARSI was the original organization to call attention to hog pollution. Many of our members are people whose lives and homes have been invaded by large-scale hog operations placed in their communities.

We oppose the current hole in the ground” (lagoons) technology and the “fling it on the fields” (spraying the waste on the surrounding lands) method of waste management. We believe that the problems generated by such crude waste disposal are not being properly addressed.

We strive to bring these problems to the attention of the public and officials. We seek regulations to keep the environment safe for us and for future generations.”
