Anima Center is a restored wilderness plant and animal sanctuary, herbal and nature awareness school, and publishing venture dedicated to assisting the awakening, healing and bettering of ourselves, our families, communities, and the natural world that we are each a component and extension of. Anima publications and Home Study Courses provide crucial insights, practical skills and usable tools for living more healthy and conscious, meaningful and mission-filled lives… teaching plant medicine, activism and conservation, nature awareness and deep-living skills that further self empowerment and reconnection, purpose and calling, wholeness and satisfaction. On-Site opportunities include periodic events on the remote Anima Sanctuary in a river canyon in S.W. New Mexico, and On-Site Helper positions through the international WWOOF program.
The annual conference and celebration for community herbalists and plant lovers, Herbal Resurgence Rendezvous: Medicine Of The People, is presented by Anima every September in the lush forests of Northern Arizona, just south of the Grand Canyon.
Anima publishes books on sense of place, herbalism, sense of place, natural living and culture change, along with Plant Healer Magazine, a beautiful, radical, and highly acclaimed quarterly enlivening the practice, culture and art of folk herbalism.
In sum, Anima provides a home as well as resources for the disparate healers and world changers, including misfits and outliers, renegades and independents, in support of a vital mission and its wilder tribe.
