The Auburn Herpetological Society is a group of individuals interested in a variety of areas including reptile and amphibian conservation, herpetoculture, and herp natural history.
The Auburn Herpetological Society provides a service to the Auburn community by rescuing and relocating native reptiles and amphibians that have been found in inhabited areas, generally within city limits. Our service is designed to safely remove unwanted animals from these areas and relocate them unharmed to more suitable locations. Our team is knowledgeable in handling and capturing all reptiles and amphibians native to Alabama including venomous snakes and alligators.
Community Service
The AHS has a main goal of conservation education. We feel one of the best ways of accomplishing this goal is to be involved in community activities and speaking at local schools.
The AHS has been involved in constructing a lizard habitat area in the Forest Ecology Preserve in Auburn.
Conservation Education
The AHS is involved in educating children of the community by visiting local schools and presenting our reptile and amphibian conservation goals.
