Border Ecology Project is an extremely small advocacy and research organization committed to Us-Mexico border environmental issues, especially mining, regional (southeast Arizona- northeast Sonora, and US-Mexico border-wide) air and water pollution issues, and specific environmental health problems. We have been in existence since the late 1970s – early 1980s, and most often work at the request of local citizens or municipalities. We consider policy, globalization, and human rights concerns as they relate directly to the lives of people in our area and in other impacted areas, and advocate accordingly.
