CERD advocates on Indigenous Peoples rights and the rights for vulnerable communities whose livelihood is affected as a result of environmental degradation caused by large-scale developments particularly Mining for minerals, oil and gas projects.
Papua New Guinea is geologically a highly mineralized nation which attracts some of the worlds multinational companies which invest or tap into these resources.
It is a non-government, not for profit organization and is directed by a Board of community representatives and volunteer professionals. Our main activities centre on capacity building for communities, research and advocacy, and improvements in legislation and policy.
