The Clean Power Campaign is a non-profit coalition of environmental, scientific and public interest groups, and renewable energy technology companies based in Sacramento, California but working collaboratively with issue allies throughout the Pacific and Western regions.

Our organization was founded in 1990 to promote public policies which encourage increased reliance by utilities on sustainable energy strategies, including energy conservation, more efficient use of conventional fuels, and generation from clean, renewable sources such as geothermal, wind, or solar. We have taken the lead in successful campaigns to enact legislation to establish procurement goals for renewable energy, to encourage development of clean energy resources, and to adopt strict targets for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from stationary and mobile sources.

We have expanded the focus of our work in recent years to include reduction of global warming emissions, reducing petroleum dependence and expanding the availability of clean transportation solutions and alternative fuels.
