Mission Statement
The goal of the Coalition to Save Eagleridge Bluffs at Horseshoe Bay is to preserve the unique biodiversity of Eagleridge Bluffs, the Larson Creek Wetlands and the Baden-Powell Centennial Trail that connects them. The Coalition supports a 1.4 km 4 lane divided tunnel for this section of the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project, rather than the 4 lane overland option that the Provincial Government is proposing. The Coalition depends on public support for protecting these environments and works to inform the Provincial Government that the tunnel alternative will save an irreplaceable natural environment while meeting all of the criteria for function, longevity and cost. The tunnel preserves all of the recreation, tourism and community values which the overland route would destroy and eliminates all safety issues, visual damage and noise. The tunnel wins on every measure.
