[imgul:med_dac.jpg:]The Direct Action Centre for Peace and Memory is a non-profit peace and human rights organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa. It was founded by former soldiers of Umkhonto We Sizwe who took collective responsibility to reconstruct their lives. The DACPM addresses the challenges facing former combatants and other survivors affected by the war in South Africa in order to continue a dream central to the liberation struggle — to build a society in which peace and human dignity is a basic human right for all.
The DACPM is committed to commemorating the lives of ordinary people who died in our struggle for democracy and peace.
