The Society began September 1975 with three members. By the third meeting there were five members. In the spring we had seven members and it was decided that we needed a name for our club. The two names considered were: Michigan Forty-Fifth Parallel Orchid Society” and “Northwestern Michigan Orchid Society.” All of our meetings were held at the college
