Southland Interagency Forum Incorporated (S.I.F.), (formerly Southland Regional Support Group) has a membership of over fifty Southland social service and community agencies. The forum meets monthly in Invercargill. Member organisations represent a wide cross section of the Southland NGO sector, with the majority providing social service and health support services. We are an affiliated member organisation of the New Zealand Council of Social Services (NZCOSS)
NZCOSS is a national umbrella organisation for local Councils of Social Services and other social service networks throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. We use our collective voice to influence decision-makers in a way that leads to policy action, social change and community empowerment. We recognise that by working together, we can more effectively support local communities and member organisations to achieve social well-being.
The membership of local COSS includes people in local government and people working locally for central government agencies, as well as people working for not-for-profit and voluntary social service organisations.

Our member organisations work to strengthen the communities they live in.
Through our member organisations, we represent many hundreds of local social service providers and voluntary groups.
Through our member organisations, we work with some of the most disadvantaged groups in the country.
We have a focus on social wellbeing and social justice, especially where issues impact disproportionately on Maori & Pasifika peoples.
NZCOSS is recognised by government as a national voice for grassroots/flaxroots social service providers throughout Aotearoa NZ.
