The Green Action, naturally, supported the protest, because we think that it is our duty to support anti-war ideas and human rights that fit in the wider definition of our mission- environmental protection and sustainable development.
The Genetically Modified Organisms – food and crops – yet again marked the events in Croatia . During summer and autumn the Food law and the Environmental protection law were issued, that regulates this question. The Green Action strongly supported the forbidding of deliberate release of GMOs to the environment and the food and feed labelling. The marking entered the law while the banning of deliberate release of GMOs didn’t. In spite of this, the Nature protection law forbids sowing of GM crops in protected areas, areas of ecological agriculture and Eco-tourism, as well as buffer zones around these areas.
